Join us for an exploration of plants and animals found along our Merrimack River!
We’ll spend our mornings ashore exploring the many plants and animals that call our river home and then we’ll play and explore along the Newburyport waterfront. This is a great age to begin learning where the Merrimack River comes from (watershed), where it goes each day (tides and currents), and who lives along the river.
We’ll take nature-detective walks along the waterfront, enjoy some outside active play, build a watershed, play with a stream table, create a nature journal, and explore the animals inside our saltwater touch tank. On Friday morning, we will enjoy a tour of the river aboard the Erica Lee, Yankee Clipper, tide and weather dependent. Parents are welcome to join us for the Friday boat ride at no additional cost. The kids will wear life vests, which we provide.
Summer program runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon. and costs $175. Program is limited to 12 kids aged 4-6.
