“Our kids just LOVED [your program]. We have no complaints, only high praises and we can’t wait ’til next year. Thank you for a great experience.” — parent
BOAT CAMP Nature School Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded in 2007 by captains Rob and Kate Yeomans. Rob grew up aboard the Erica Lee, where he developed fascination with fisheries, marine biology and oceanography. He found a shared love of all things maritime in his high-school sweetheart, Kate. She grew up working on the whale watch boat tied up nearby, the 100-foot Capt. Red. Years of watching whales inspired in Kate a love for the sea and an appreciation for sharing its story with others through her writing and journalism.
Led by a small, skilled and passionate board of directors, BOAT CAMP Nature School is a family-run, family friendly nonprofit 501(c)3 educational organization with deep roots in the Newburyport community. We have a long-held, sincere affinity for celebrating and learning about the diverse ecology and marine biology of the Merrimack River, Great Salt Marsh, the Ipswich Bay coastline and the Gulf of Maine.
BOAT CAMP Nature School is proud to be members of the National Marine Educators Association, Gulf of Maine Marine Educator’s Association, New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative, Massachusetts Environmental Education Society, North American Association for Environmental Education, and the Orion Grassroots Network.
