Positions
Volunteers
We are currently looking for volunteers to staff our waterfront ocean education center. A minimum of 10 hours per month is requested. Duties include greeting visitors, light administrative tasks, outreach, and occasionally assisting with classes ashore or afloat. A love of nature, kids and the sea is required; training will be provided. Please contact us for details!
Counselors-in-Training
Each summer, we offer a limited number of opportunities to teens who are interested in learning about working onboard the Erica Lee. Kids must be at least 14 years old and have participated in BOAT CAMP Inc. programs for a minimum of three years. Due to the high number of inquiries we receive, we regret that we cannot accommodate all requests. CIT positions are typically for one to two weeks, and do not guarantee a permanent junior crew position on board.
Interested kids should submit a letter of interest to us by March 30, 2010. Please include your marine interests, what you liked most about participating in BOAT CAMP programs, and how a CIT position at BOAT CAMP Inc. would benefit you.
Teacher-Naturalists
We often use a variety of instructors for our courses and programs. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, environmental education or related disciplines is required. Graduate study and experience teaching in formal or informal settings preferred. If you would like to propose a class or course, please let us know!
