Young Scientist Program for ages 7 to 9

This is an excellent introduction to the Merrimack River and a boat-based summer program. We’ll spend each morning exploring the science behind our Merrimack River estuary, and then head out onto the water to get our hands wet and explore the river’s ecosystems first-hand. We’ll spend a good amount of time each day on the river aboard the Yankee Clipper, excellent for exploring the Merrimack River and Great Marsh.
The week’s activities will include:
- Water sampling and analysis
- Watershed/water cycle education
- Salt marsh/estuarine ecology
- Marine biology
- Oceanography
- …and staying cool and having fun!
Summer 2010 session dates are selected in order to dodge the greenheads and catch the best tides!

Programs hours are Monday through Friday,
8:30 a.m. to noon. and costs $225.
