Last season, in response to overwhelming demand for our programs, we expanded to include a summer program based on Plum Island using the Captain George (and sometimes the Captain’s Lady and Captain’s Lady II). These weeks were a lot of fun, and offered a terrific blend of new experiences–new boat, visit to Star Island, new crew–and old favorites–swimming, fishing, bottom sampling, LOTS of time to explore Plum Island Basin, and, of course, Friday cookout. BOAT CAMP instructors and crew lead each day’s experience aboard boats owned and operated by the much-respected Charos family on Plum Island. Capt. Ryan and crew were terrific hosts, and we are looking forward to another great summer with them.
Last season, in response to overwhelming demand for our programs, we expanded to include a summer program based on Plum Island using the Captain George (and sometimes the All Plum Island programs start and end right at Plum Island Point. Our days begin at 8:30 and we return to the dock by 3:30. This leaves time for an afternoon swim, or early pick-up for evening baseball games and other family events. Many parents enjoyed the island option because it avoids the congestion of downtown. We love the island because it has a summer atmosphere of its own, and it’s one not to be missed!
